My goal is to design a motor package that does not require rear gears or transmission changes, but one that performs the best with the pieces you have, and the way you like to drive.

Right here it is !!! My favorite motor of all time for the money. This combination is wicked. l've installed many of these through the years. Put it in an early 1970's, Chevelle, with a 4sp and 3.73 gears! The driving experience is unbelievable. You will not want to get out of the driver's seat! 4sp or 5sp recommended, or 2500 stall on automatics.

With its peanut. port heads medium rise intake it has no need for high stall converter or low gears. Stock converter 3.08 up to 3.55 to 1 rear gears, perfect even in heavy vehicles and trucks. Can be designed for towing. This motor is used many times in heavier muscle cars. But works great for a square body 4×4 long bed. Looking to lay down some rubber.

Killer combination that can run low 10s up to high 9 second et's at the track. and cruise all night. But remember, it takes upgraded fuel system, good quality transmission rear axle to hang on to this beast. (I have one of these in my personal Camaro. It'll run low 10s on a hot July day and then drive home 200 miles.) HP peak of approximately 6100 rpms.

Transmission 4sp preferred or 3200 stall converter automatic.

This package is basically my 500 horsepower small block go-to recipe. Decent heads, 383ci, 10.5 to 1 c.r. My custom cam. Will ring the bell for 500 horse at almost any dyno In the country. I currently have friends that have these motors that run ETs of low 11s any day.
